For Sale: 1977 Frank Neat Pre-Stanleytone Archtop Banjo with Hard Case (Video)
This is a 1977 Frank Neat Archtop Pre-Stanleytone Banjo. The neck appears to be a 5 piece flamed maple/walnut/mahogany/walnut/flamed maple. The tailpiece is unbranded, clamshell style tailpiece. The resonator appears to be flamed maple or flamed walnut. The inlays appear to be mother of pearl. The rim appears to be mahogany. 1 piece flange. Five Star smooth white head. The name and serial are hand carved in the rim. It weighs 11lbs 11.4oz.
Plays wonderfully as it is, nice low action and a wonderful Frank Neat neck. I have posted some up close photos on this ad of some of the wear this banjo has had over the years. Just went through and cleaned/oiled the fretboard and put new strings on. I play it regularly, but I have a baby on the way so I am downsizing my banjo collection. Please email me or text me for any inquiries, I'm sure we can work something out. I can send more videos/pictures/answer any questions.
