Here's a beautiful tenor I've had sitting around for about 5 years and not getting played--it's time to thin the herd! A beautiful, well-made banjo in very good condition. Beautiful solid curly maple resonator and gold-plating. Very little fret wear, as you can see the armrest has some of the gold plating worn off, as does the tailpiece. But the woods and overall instrument have aged beautifully and deserve to be played!

Includes original hard-shell case which is very sturdy and in good condition. Also includes a few extras that came with it--a couple tuning keys, some old strings (including a cool old Gibson box!) and the trussrod adjusting tool.

I don't know a lot about Iida banjos, so I poked around online some. I don't know what year this was made, but I'm guessing late 70's. From my research I found that Iida's 240 model was their top of the line banjo. They made a 5-string version as well as 4-string.

Serial number 240T-M04786.

From my research:
The model 240 (archtop) was Iida's top-of-the line archtop. It had cast bell-brass tone rings, solid maple resonators, 14-ply maple rims, rosewood fret boards, MOP inlays using Gibson's RB-3 wreath pattern, 2-way truss rods, three-piece maple necks, and checker-board wood marquetry before the ivoroid grained binding. The design borrowed heavily from the RB-800 of the day, but with a Cremona finish that avoided the cherry red of the RB-800.

3 day satisfaction guarantee--if you're not happy with it, send it back! I'm the guy who runs the Banjo Hangout, so I'm not going anywhere. :-)
